Climb aboard the Sponge-O-Rama's Cruiseliner for a trip out on the Anclote River and into the Gulf. Expect to see Dolphins, manatees, birds, the Anclote lighthouse and other historical sites. We will stop at a beach, disembark and have some time for shelling (walking in sand) on the island, if you choose.

Spong-O-Rama is located at the Tarpon Springs Sponge Docks (behind Yianni's Greek Cuisine).

510 Dodecanese Blvd.

Tarpon Springs, FL 34689

This is rain or shine.  Free parking areas have been reserved for us within one block, max.

We have a limited menu lunch included at Yianni's Authenic Greek Cuisine.  In between time (we will cruise and eat in two groups) there will be time to view the worlds's largest "Sponge Factory"/gift shop which includes a short free movie about the sponge industry.  The first group will depart on the boat tour at 10 am and eat at noon.  The second group will eat at 11 am and depart on the boat tour at noon.

The primary street, Dodecanese (a Greek island which Momma Yianni pronounced, "doe dec' a nees"), and offshoots will provide more than adequate shopping in this "coastal" town.

You are free to see more on your own or head straight back to The Villages after your tour and lunch. Your travel time back should be about 1 hour 40 minutes by way of I-75.

The cutoff date is  May 9.  There are 96 slots available.

Cost of the trip is $42 per person (includes tour, tip for captain, lunch, tip, and taxes)

We will meet at  Eisenhower Recreation Center at 7:30 a.m. and depart prompty at 7:45 am.
