Blackwater Boat Tour

and Lunch

Wednesday  October 12th 2016

With shorter days and fall rain, our maples are turning tributaries of the St. Johns River into color rarely seen in Florida. Along with the color, the migratory birds are coming to the area for the winter and the alligators and turtles are spending more time out of the water to gain the warmth of the sun.

Learn about the history and wildlife of Astor and The St. Johns River. Depart from historic Astor for a leisurely 2 hour boat tour to the many tributaries of the St. Johns River. You will experience exotic plant and wildlife steeped in history dating back to ancient Indian and Spanish civilizations.

On your St. Johns River eco tour you will most likely see, alligators, bald eagles, manatees.  Plant life includes air plants, ferns, large cypress trees and much more.

Learn the history of the River from the Indians to the European and American settlers.

Trip Advisor had this review of the St. John's River Tour

“A Fantastic Visual and Informative Trip on the St. John's River”

Reviewed August 4, 2016

The boat trip down the St. John's river was on a very beautiful and sunny day. Besides the highly informative captain the only passengers were my wife and myself. This enabled us to get a personal briefing from captain Bob as to the names both common and scientific of the water and shore flora, birds and aquatic fauna.

“Great view, great food, full bar, nice people, entertainment”

Reviewed August 11, 2016

Stopped by, coming from Datona and wanted a cold beer and some eats. We had hamburgers, fish sandwiches, gator tail and fish spread that were all very good. The view of the River was beautiful! We even saw a gator crossing it! Local entertainment on weekends. Full bar & cold beer & nice staff. Going back soon!. .
